Sapno Se Sach Tak Ka Safar

Our Beginning

College mein tha yeh dream – ki someday main kuch aisa karungi jo tradition ko celebrate kare but artisans ko bhi unka haq mile. Back then it was just a thought, you know? Life happened, **corporate job mili, paisa save kiya**, family aur friends ka support mila, and finally... *yeh dream reality ban gaya.*

Nani ke ghar pe maine dekha tha Meera aunty ko – her fingers creating the most intricate **Chikankari motifs**, those delicate jaalis and fine murri work that takes literally hours to perfect. Thirty years of mastery, but she was earning peanuts.

That visual never left me. Corporate salary aane ke baad, I knew it was time - ab ya kabhi nahi.

Why Chikankari? Kyunki Yeh Art Form Hai Magic!

You know what’s beautiful about Chikankari? It’s not just embroidery – it’s **poetry written with threads**. Those traditional motifs – the paisley (mango), the lotus (kamal), the jasmine (bel) – each one tells stories our grandmothers knew by heart.

But somewhere, this incredible heritage was getting lost in mass production and machine work. Real Chikankari – with its 36 different stitches, the shadow work, the delicate phanda and murri – was becoming rare.

The Traditional Techniques We Preserve

Jaali Work

Intricate net-like patterns that look like delicate lace woven by moonlight

Murri

Tiny french knots that create texture and depth like dewdrops on fabric

Phanda

Knotted stitch that adds beautiful dimension to each motif

Shadow Work

Where threads create gorgeous silhouettes and play with light

The Real Game Changer

Corporate experience taught me one thing

fair business practices aren’t charity, they’re smart economics.** When you pay people well, they give you their best work. Simple.

Each technique takes years to perfect. These aren’t just “workers”

they’re artists carrying forward centuries of knowledge in every stitch, every motif, every delicate pattern.
